Last year, Atlassian kept to recent custom by sending Canberra zilch, from local revenue of $773 million. Questioned on this, Atlassian's cashed-up co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes said the company follows "all the tax rules of all the geographies we operate in". And of all the geographies it chooses to operate in for tax purposes, naturally.

There is moral integrity and then there is the law.
